These vintage hand-carved riser boards, found in Turkey, have character baked right into their wood. Originally used in food or baking prep, they add a beautiful timeworn feeling to your kitchen styling. Each board is an authentic one of a kind piece that is sure to make you smile each time you see it.

    If you are purchasing from our vintage collection, these items may have blemishes and/or irregularities that are considered part of their charm. We try to photograph our products to show all of their character, but please ask for additional photos, or close ups if you have any hesitations. We don't like surprises either!

    Variations in colour and imperfections are part of the the natural, distressed finish that comes from vintage, salvaged boards.

  • Food Safe

    Many of these boards were used to knead bread dough on, so the white flour is still visible.  We've chosen to keep it as authentic looking as possible, and left it on the board.

    We don't know with certainty, the history of the board, where it's been or what it's been used for.  If you choose to use it to serve food on, we recommend using a barrier with wet foods ie: placing olives in a dish, or layering cheeses on parchment paper.
