This is our second Canadian winter with our beautiful @hartley_botanic greenhouse. Going into this, we were starting from scratch. We had little to no information on how to maintain a greenhouse in our -25 degrees climate, and couldn’t find much either.

We froze the water lines in our first year, so introduced a supplemental heat source, increased airflow and installed a generator for those all too common power outages. We have so much to learn still but a seed of knowledge has been planted and we’re able to trust the systems that we have in place.

Who knew that gardening can be a 365 day hobby in our little town of Elora, Ontario 🖤
